Denpomal Banjarmasin held a reconstruction of the murder case involving a female journalist, Juwita, who was killed by Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) soldier Jumran in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. Jumran, with a shaved head and clad in an orange prisoner shirt labeled “suspect,” reenacted the crime scenes on Saturday (5/4). The despicable act of killing a journalist was exposed during the reconstruction.
The reenactment took place on Trans Kalimantan Street, Cempaka District, Banjarbaru. A total of 33 scenes were reconstructed, revealing how Jumran strangled Juwita to death inside a car after pinning her down. The journalist’s motorbike was found at a shopping center.
The reconstruction depicted Jumran’s heinous actions, including staging the journalist’s motorcycle to appear as if it had been accidentally damaged. After killing Juwita, Jumran had someone retrieve the motorbike while he destroyed her cell phone to eliminate evidence of assault.
Furthermore, Jumran cleaned the victim’s motorbike to remove his fingerprints, then placed Juwita’s body near the washed motorcycle. Initially, the body was discovered by the roadside and thought to be a case of a fatal accident.
Present at the reconstruction, the lawyer representing the victim’s family, Dedi Sugianto, stated that Jumran’s calm and well-prepared demeanor, from the initial meeting to the placement of the body, indicated a premeditated murder. The careful orchestration, including the washing of the motorcycle before staging the scene, strongly suggested a meticulously planned crime.
Despite the chilling details revealed during the reconstruction, the case underscores the importance of seeking justice for Juwita and holding the perpetrator accountable for the reprehensible crime.
